If you cannot explain why you believe what you believe, it is not your belief. It is someone else's.

Borrowed beliefs function like counterfeit identity. They fill the space where your own thinking would go, and because they feel familiar, they are hard to question. The test is simple: can you trace the belief back to an experience, a reasoned conclusion, or a deliberate choice? If the answer is no, the belief arrived by exposure, not examination. That does not make it wrong. It does mean you have not owned it yet.
