Love is not about finding the right person. It is about becoming the right person.

The search for the right partner is partly a search for the self you want to be reflected back. But no other person can produce that reflection on demand. The qualities you are looking for in someone else are often the qualities you have not yet built in yourself. The work of becoming the person you want to attract is not a substitute for relationship. It is the foundation that makes a real one possible. Searching for someone to complete you is a different project than becoming someone who is whole.
