Every path taken is a path not taken. Every commitment forecloses alternatives. The framing of "solving" a problem implies that a satisfactory resolution exists in which nothing is sacrificed. In practice, every decision is an exchange: more of this, less of that. The person who understands this stops searching for the cost-free answer and starts asking which tradeoff they can most honestly accept. That is a more honest relationship with choice than searching indefinitely for the solution that costs nothing.
